The new Overbag Pro

The new Overbag Pro

Sleeping bags: Our philosophy

Our approach to the production of sleeping bags is built on historical principles of layering and the synergy this provides due to an increased heat to weight ratio. With modern technology, knowledge and experience, old principles and ideas can be made into extremely efficient systems. Halites mission is to refine this knowledge to provide our customers the best possible bang for the buck. We test our products over time to ensure that we use the best and most durable materials, and we continuously iterate our products and construction methods to withstand frequent and extreme usage.

Two-bag system

In close collaboration with our factories and end users Halite has created a two-bag system that we know solves many of the current day issues with sleeping bags. Our sleeping bags can be used separately or together, all depending on your mission and its needs. The two-bag system provides flexibility: Use any bag on its own or combine it for added warmth. In fluctuating temperatures and climate our bags offer unbeatable flexibility and modularity.

The Overbag goes over the inner bag, and is made of the synthetic material Climashield Apex with a Aquaban® coating. This is one the world's warmest hydrophobic insulation materials. The outer fabric is made of Quantum Pertex – and is hyper breathable.

The Overbag Pro is designed to beef up insulation on your 3-season or winter bag, the Overbag adds approximately 14 degrees celsius to any sleeping bag system.

The Overbag
adds up to 14 C on the temp-rating on a good 3-season bag, converts a winter bag to an expedition bag and protects the inner bag from moisture and condensation. Our Overbag has been designed to provide operational benefits over a large range of uses. Used on its own, the generous sizing makes it a great ventilated choice for a goodnight’s sleep in warmer climates or as an OP shelter onshorter missions. Durable continuous fiber Climashield®APEX insulation with hydrophobic Aquaban® DWR treatment in combination with Pertex® Quantum shell and lining delivers great warmth at a low weight, with excellent stuffsac compression.

Added value through responsibility

Halite has created a system that allows for our bags to be supplements to existing solutions. We believe this gives added flexibility and creates new areas of use. Cost-effectiveness is a key factor to our system, but also the added value we believe it provides to our customers both financially, but also environmentally. We don’t want you to have to buy a different sleeping bag for every season – we want you to keep the one you already have, and supplement with one of ours for those even colder missions.
